Myia Antone

Board Member

Myia is a proud youth from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, with Ukrainian and Norwegian roots.

She graduated from UBC, where she studied Environment and Sustainability and First Nations and Indigenous Studies, and recently graduated from the Squamish language program at SFU. She is currently a Squamish language teacher and will be taking the next Squamish language program in Fall 2020.

She loves learning more about who and where she comes from. Growing up in Squamish, she loves being outside and loves taking care of the land that her ancestors have occupied since time immemorial. When she’s not in school, you can find Myia hiding in the mountains, swimming in the ocean or drinking coffee at an unreasonable hour.

On board since: April 2020
