Sheri Walsh, RPF

Board Member

Sheri has been a registered professional forester (BC) since 1981. She worked for the BC provincial government until 1985, and for consulting companies and independently since then. Clients have included a variety of government agencies, private forest landowners and industrial forest licensees, other industries involved with land rehabilitation, First Nations, international organizations (China, Peru, Cuba) and Selkirk College. She is currently providing consulting services to the Secwepemcùl’ecw Restoration and Stewardship Society in their wildfire rehabilitation and carbon sequestration work. Her work focuses on silviculture, forest health, education/extension, restoration, and rehabilitation, along with technical writing and editing.

Her involvement in the community includes being a trustee on the board of the Kootenay Lake School District for six years and chairing the district Governance & Policy Committee, Chair of the Kootenay Lake District Parents’ Advisory Council as well as several Parent Advisory Councils, Board member in various roles for the Kootenay Centre for Forestry Alternatives for many years, an active member of the West Kootenay People for Racial Justice, volunteer English tutor and a frequent homestay host for international students.
